To extend the life of your Dacron mainsail:

Chafe Inspection: Regularly inspect the sail for signs of chafe, especially along the leech, foot, and where it contacts shrouds or spreaders.
Cleaning: For cleaning, especially mold, avoid harsh chemicals like bleach. Products like Oxyclean or professional sail loft cleaning are generally recommended.
Batten Care: If equipped with battens, remove them periodically to inspect both the battens and their pockets for wear or damage.

Is this mainsail suitable for my boat?

Accepted Answer

To determine suitability, compare the listed dimensions (Luff: 6.8m, Foot: 3.1m, Leech: 7.45m) with your boat’s specific mast and boom measurements. Ensure the luff attachment (8mm bolt rope) is compatible with your mast track.
