This specific sail was originally manufactured for a Bavaria 34. To ensure an optimal fit, it is recommended to compare the sail’s dimensions (26.9 m² area, 10.9 m luff, 4.27 m foot, 11.5 m leech) with your boat’s exact rigging measurements.

Question 6

How should I maintain this furling mainsail?

Accepted Answer

Proper maintenance for a furling mainsail involves regularly rinsing it with fresh water and ensuring it is thoroughly dry before storage to prevent mildew. It is also beneficial to lubricate the luff track and bolt rope with a dry lubricant, such as McLube, to ensure smooth furling and unfurling. When not in use, limit the sail’s exposure to direct sunlight for extended periods; if stored on the boom, it should always be covered.
